Ted R. Montoya Hemophilia Program and Treatment Center

The Ted R. Montoya Hemophilia Program and Treatment center was established in 1980 by the New Mexico State legislature to identify and care for New Mexico residents with bleeding disorders. It is federally recognized as one of 130 treatment centers across the nation that provides state of the art medical services, psychosocial support, education and research. Services:

  • Evaluation and treatment of people with bleeding disorders and thrombotic disorders
  • Annual comprehensive hemophilia evaluation
  • Ongoing medical management of bleeding disorders
  • Psychosocial support
  • Home therapy coordination and infusion teaching
  • Education regarding bleeding/clotting disorder
  • Home therapy and infusion teaching
  • Physical therapy evaluation and treatment
  • Assistance in obtaining the necessary blood products for treatment and/or financial resources
  • Genetic carrier testing
  • Referrals to providers and community services
  • Education for local health care professionals, schools, emergency room staff, etc.
